Oil massage and steam bath
In Ayurveda oil massage is called “Abhyanga”. It is considered as a whole-body massage that involves the touch of healing hands with warm natural herbal oils and Ayurvedic herbs to improve the circulation and detoxification of the body. Utilizing techniques are based on traditional Ayurvedic principles of the Tri-Doshas which is Vata, Pitta, Kapha and the formation of seven tissues (dhathus), plasma (rasa), blood (raktha), muscles (mamsa), fat (medha), bone tissues (asthi), bone marrow (majja) and semen/egg (sukra).
Ayurvedic massage addresses imbalances within the body and works to bring a person’s Dosha back into its original state. The benefits of Abhyanga massage are enhanced with each session and is traditionally administered in sets of 3, 5 and 7 sessions, which can be done daily, weekly or monthly.
Ayurvedic massage calms the nervous system, eliminates toxins, increases energy, boosts the immune system, tones skin and lowers blood pressure. It slows down the aging process by regenerating tissue, reduces joint pain and increases flexibility, relaxes muscles, cleansing for the lymphatic system, reduces fatty tissues, enhances fertility, nourishes the mind, builds strength and promotes creativity, eases stress-related problems. It is a wonderful way to increase general health and wellbeing.
Steam bath is a perspiration technique to experience the magical effects of the herbal steam. Skin is the largest organ of the body, where underneath the hair follicle sweat pores are present. These pores and sweat glands eliminate the toxins present in blood which can produce diseases. Full Body steam bath (Sarvanga Ushna Swedhanam) is the finest way to eliminate unwanted waste materials from the body with the help of herbal steam. This rejuvenates the body, opens up the energy channels, reduce aches and pain, and relaxes whole body and mind. Combining a steam bath with and oil massage therefore creates a stronger impact.
